Hey everyone, as we are beginning the process of starting a new cycle in the PbP story line, I wanted to get together to see what everyone is hoping to get out of their experience as we play and write as a group. Obviously no one scenario is going to be able to provide everything to everyone, but I wanted to make sure that we all at least have a mutual understanding of what exactly our desired goals are. To this end, I am going to lay out a few questions that I would like you all to answer. Please do your best to think of an answer to every question, and if there is anything else you would like to add that I did not specifically mention, feel free to add that too!
Question 1: What experience are you as a player seeking? Do you want more rollplay or more fighting? Are you focused on drama and intrigue or fun and adventure?
Question 2: What goals does your character have? What are they seeking, how can they grow?
Question 3: What motivates your character? What is driving them to go out on an adventure?
Question 4: What was your character doing before they became an adventurer? Why did that change? What do they do when not adventuring?
Question 5: Last but not least, why is your character willing to join up with a group of other adventurers they may not have met and stick around for the long haul? (This is an important one! If your character has no reason to be in the group, you might need to consider changing that ASAP or start a new character who is willing to play with other people!)

1. Just a bit of fun we can look back on and laugh at the shenanigans we got into. I love me some fighting, but some breaks for relaxing and laying back are always nice! I want to see some fun and adventure, but that doesn't mean a bit of drama can't happen to spice things up!
2. Rhubarb 2. Nori just wants to be a hero, one that people will remember the Kikwi for that will destroy the stigma that Kikwi are just a bunch of cowards.

4. Be an average Kikwi in his tribe, listening to the stories his elders would share of the world outside and dangers in it. He didn't like how always, the stigma of his people was that they were a cowardly race, that would never stand up for themselves and instead hide. It's in his nature to be fearful and scared at everything, but he tries to push past it to do at least something! Uh...He probably sleeps and just polishes his back.
5. because everything is better together! He's learning of so many new things in the world, and if he can get past the fear that everything is out to eat him, he wants to become friends with them! And if they're going on an adventure, he wants to tag along and hopefully be of use! FRIENDSHIP!!!!

1 I wana role play the fuck out if thus shit 2to go home and be accepted he wants to have a family and be able to protect them. The thought of her family's death drives her but she's scared about the memories 3 friends and to stay by their side 4.street showman/begger. Teleported to new land and wanted to make a place that she can call home then she found a friend (Delia). 5 wants to be needed and the thought of her friends going out and never coming back she wants to be there with them till the end.

1) I'm into character building and development. A story is only as strong and interesting as the characters and their stories, so I'm looking for an adventure that develops people's characters. I'd prefer more roleplaying scenarios, but not opposed to fighting and combat. Fun and adventure is definitely one thing I am looking towards, with a bit of drama to keep the story interesting and on its feet.
2) Edin has a couple goals, though he is primarily studying and learning new things so that he can create a Rune for the Sheikah Slate that allows the controller to take command of the goliaths that are the Guardians. He hopes to come across his eldest sister, Lanyra, on his journey.
3) Edin is motivated by his goal of creating the sheikah rune.
4) Edin was learning from some sheikah's in Hateno about sheikah technology and language. His older sister Faria took some time to teach him about magic. When he isn't advenuring, he can be found tinkering with parts and his turrets and machines, or, if he is feeling really low and needing a buzz, you can find him at the inn, or tavern, hitting some pretty hard liquor.
5) Edin is willing to join a group so long as he has an interest in the people. Currently, Keck's robotic, mechanical arm is interesting, to maintain, research and develop. He'll stick around as long as his interest in the group lingers.

1) Personally, I prefer dramatic roleplay since I'm better at it, but in creating a character such as Hallo, I'm looking to expand my skillset. Battle and roleplay should be balanced.
2) Hallo doesn't quite have a purpose yet. In finding one, that is how they can grow. At the moment, all Hallo really cares about is the satisfaction from scaring people and having fun teasing them. They did, before, seek independence from the mansion, but having achieved that, Hallo no longer has a real goal.
3) The pure drive of what would be entertaining. Distancing themselves from the mansion is in the back of Hallo's mind, too. The fresh blood that waits outside of Phantasmagoria is enticing to Hallo.
4) I've touched on this quite a bit now, but Hallo lived in Phantasmagoria, a mansion full of Poe's which had the use of providing shelter to the lost, but they grew restless and tired of the peaceful life as hardly anyone who wasn't a poe got "lost" according to those who directed the mansion. Eventually, Hallo got fed up and left, despite the dangers of the outside world. When not 'adventuring, per se, Hallo is plotting new ways to trick those around.
5) Why, to learn about people to better fool them, of course. Entertainment is Hallo's priority, but also, they don't quite understand how relationships and friendship works...

1. Fun. Story. Drama. I want to do everything. No holds barred. I shall live vicariously through Shea as if she’s my child and I’m controlling her life. …wait. I prefer RP to fighting, but both have their places.
2. Reparations for past mistakes. Shea is well aware that she’s done some horrible things in her life, and she wants to somehow make up for them and improve her cosmic karma. Or, at the very least, make it easier to live with herself. Save as many lives as she’s ended or some such.
3. Shea joins the adventure to begin with purely to avoid being caught for a previous assassination, paranoid (and maybe rightly so) that the town’s guards are hunting her down. And, although she considers it unobtainable, she hopes to one day be accepted as a member of the Sheikah tribe – through actions as opposed to heritage – but she’s simultaneously terrified of being denied that and shunned by them, so she (currently) would prefer to pretend she has nothing to do with them and her looks are just a bizarre coincidence.
4. Cold hearted cash-money murder. She left it behind because she found it morally reprehensible and – hey! Maybe adventuring is financially viable after all! When she’s not adventuring or working, she spends most of her time drinking, training or sleeping. And occasionally tending to flower beds and feeding stray cats. But mostly drinking.
5. Although she has considerable trust issues, Shea doesn’t like being alone all that much, and it wont take long for her to get quite attached to the rest of the group (not that she’d admit it, tsundere much?). The adventure gives her plenty of opportunities to do good, particularly saving other members of the group should the chance arise.

A traveling minish sorceress who left her home in Minish woods to search for the other half of a Kinstone given to her by her parents.
She studied to become a scholar but a incident made her turn to the arts of magic, a practice forbidden by her people after a specific wind sorcerer's actions so she used her scholar studies as a cover-up to avoid being discovered.

1. I’m just looking for a fun adventure with allot of room for character growth, I don’t mind having a battle every now and then if it fits the narrative of the story (need that sweet exp for my stats bro!) but I prefer to see my character grow through roleplay I mainly focus on fun and adventure but I also like the intrigue and drama that happens.
2. Mina’s goals is to see and learn as much about the world as possible and now that she has started to get into magic try to learn how to perfect her magic skills. She is also looking for a missing piece of a special Kinstone piece that was given to her as a gift by her parents.
3. The Kinstone piece mentioned in question 2 is a big part of Mina’s motivation as she really want to find out where she might end up because of it and who might have the other piece. Another thing that has become a pretty big motivation for her is her friends as she enjoys spending time with them and dread the idea of losing them. Plus Minish want to help people in general so she wants to be helpful because it’s what most of her people live for.
4. Mina lived a very quiet life in Minish woods before becoming an adventurer, she was inspired by the tales of humans doing heroic deeds told by the village elders and started to study to become a scholar so she could learn more about the world before heading out. So during most of her time before she was old enough to leave the forest she studied under her mother who also was a scholar and trained with her father up in the mountains (which didn’t go too well I might add).When Mina is not out looking for her Kinstone or just adventuring in general. She likes to spend her free time with reading, cooking or help her mother out with her business which mostly involves cleaning and making food for the inn’s guests. She occasionally visits her dad too and that usually ends in another training session.
5. Well the minish as a people help strangers all the time and Mina has been raised with that mentality so if she sees a stranger that might need help she naturally wants to help them, and Mina left the forest to learn more about the world that includes all the different kinds of people that exist in the world and she learns more about them by helping or just being friendly in general.

I was told it was unnecessary for GMs to answer the questionnaire, but I figured it would benefit the group if I posted my motivations as well.
1. Roleplay and combat both have their place, and both are exciting to me, so on this front I’m pretty neutral. If I had to pick, though, I’d agree with the others and say more roleplay.
2. Delia is still – and will forever be – seeking knowledge. She is innately curious, and will continue to explore in order to satisfy said curiosity.
3. Again, curiosity of the unknown and about herself. She is also now – as everyone knows – involved with SICARII’s antics, and will go anywhere Meduhi will go. She seeks a life with him, even if that life involves… a lot of murder.
4. Delia was researching before she became an adventurer. She was exploring Hyrule and learning about the different sights and customs. That changed because she was roped into a murder-mystery plot, and eventually fell in love with Meduhi and was roped into his complications as well.
5. At this point, Delia is pretty involved with the rest of the group. She has plenty of motivation to stick with her current friends, and as an actually fairly friendly person, she’s willing to group up with a larger collection of faces… erk. people as well. Especially given the mixed bag of a group we have, she’d surely be interested in observing and learning about their unique quirks, histories, and customs.

2. My character just wants to avoid persecution as well as learn more about the deities of the world and the relationship between gods and their subjects.
3. just tryin to not get plonked for being a heretic. She would cherish the opportunity to observe and learn about individual people and their faith. She has no place in this world so any opportunity to keep her occupied is welcome.
4. She has been forgotten in a lonely cell in Hyrule, waiting for whatever punishment the kingdom would decide to grant her. She will have escaped or will escape during the start of the new rp nonsense.
5. Anyone or any group who would accept her even knowing what she is would be interesting to her. This may seem vague but she has no ties to anything any longer and goes wherever the river decides to throw her. It could even give her some purpose and perhaps a place in life.

1. I'm looking for story-driven content, Fights are always fun to be a part of and can provide really strong support to any story, the same goes for Drama and other Roleplay events. As long as everything seems to evenly fit together and nothing seems rushed to do something then it will be a lot of fun for everyone.
2. While Keck does have his own problems, his main goal is to fix his "Mental Issue" as it's not only a problem to himself but those he has around him. He fears that if he does not do this then he will be powerless to save anyone from the evil that lurks.
3. Keck does have a home but since his job as a Bounty Hunter needs him to travel to far distances he can't really stay in one place and not that he has a choice, his own bounty does force him to keep moving.
4. Keck was always kind of a hunter, as far back as he could remember he always listen to what he was supposed to do, who/what to kill almost as if he was being controlled, much like a slave. Once free from control he now hunts his former "master" and still to this day. When Keck is not out adventuring or hunting a bounty, he can usually be found cooking, recovering from major injuries or doing some sort of research.
5. While Keck won't want to drag anyone into any of his personal problems he still likes to make friends he can count on in any situation, Keck will help those who seem to be in trouble even if he's not paid for helping out despite being a merc. Keck will stick around with a group when he has developed some sort of connection and will continue to be with a said group until certain events cause him to leave.

Question 1: What experience are you as a player seeking? Do you want more rollplay or more fighting? Are you focused on drama and intrigue or fun and adventure?
I want to make awesome stories with my fellow players with my character mainly as well as develop my character more thoroughly through her own story and others connected to hers. I personally enjoy role playing more than fighting. Uhhhh a little bit of both? I like bother the fun and drama stuff I guess. Not too much of either though.
Question 2: What goals does your character have? What are they seeking, how can they grow?
My character's initial goal was to explore the Light World but has increasingly become more about discovering her forgotten past and to be able to live a normal life again without her past haunting her. My character also simply wants companionship that doesn't end is disaster (which constantly seems to be happening the poor girl). While she might not realize it yet (till later after the ship wreck), she has never really had many people that have been super close to her that stick around. She has already grown much by discovering much about companionship with her adventuring friends but she has much more growing as she battles through loosing more people in her life due to recent events. I hope through the story (we shall see what happens) that she will learn to have a deeper connection with characters without fear of them leaving her.
Question 3: What motivates your character? What is driving them to go out on an adventure?
Her friends motivate her a lot as well as a sense of duty toward the Twili Royal Family (in terms of anything related to her homeworld). She has a natural curiosity about new areas in general which has been with her since she was a child. She tends to be super interested in flora and fauna in particular as well as culture of different races. This drives a lot of her willingness to adventure.
Question 4: What was your character doing before they became an adventurer? Why did that change? What do they do when not adventuring?
Asteri was the former head of the Twili Royal Guard with her main task protecting the Twili Royal Family and her people. She would often do patrols of the city on her Shadow Kargarok named Virak since she is one of the most proficient Shadow Kargarok riders. This changed mostly because she wanted to explore the Light Realm after accidentally finding a portal to the Light Realm. Initially it was more for her own personal sense of adventuring but may end up with her helping to create a bridge between her people and the Light World at some point. She does try to keep logs of things that may be useful for her people if they decide to go to the Light Realm once proper relations have been established (currently it is not allowed for civilians since only her and the Order of Darklight know of the secret portals between the two worlds.). She does not believe at the moment its her place to start relations yet though this may change in the future. She doesn't do much besides adventuring other than hanging with her friends.
Question 5: Last but not least, why is your character willing to join up with a group of other adventurers they may not have met and stick around for the long haul? (This is an important one! If your character has no reason to be in the group, you might need to consider changing that ASAP or start a new character who is willing to play with other people!)
My character has already randomly joined up with people lol but her main reason for joining with other adventurers is to know more about them (and usually more about their particular race and/or culture) and to have companionship during her adventures. The reason she stays is she is relatively easy to make friends with and generally appreciates company. Also since she has very little knowledge of what the Light World has to offer, she tends to follow others to new areas who might have more of an idea of direction. Already she has made friends with Ilum, Mina, Delia, and Gouyara while being acquaintances with Shearah and mostly tolerating Meduhi (had a rough first impression so they are uneasy acquaintances).
