Combat Rotation is how often players and enemies attack per round. This is determined largely by the amount of players in a group, and enemy rotation is determined by the strength of the enemy. The enemy rotation can be changed at GM discretion, but these are the basic guidelines.
Rotation against Weak Enemies
Weak enemies all attack at once after every player turn. A full round occurs after 4 player turns, or all current active players have taken a turn. The rotation looks like this:
Player 1 > Enemy A, Enemy B, Enemy C > Player 2 > Enemy A, Enemy B, Enemy C > Player 3, etc
Rotation against Standard Enemies
Standard enemies attack once per enemy per turn between player turns. A full round occurs after 4 player turns pass, or all current active players have taken a turn. The rotation looks like this:
Player 1 > Enemy A > Player 2 > Enemy B > Player 3 > Enemy C > Player 4 > Enemy A, etc
Rotation against Strong Enemies
Strong enemies attack once every two player turns. A full round ends generally when the Strong enemy has attacked twice (ie 4 player turns per round), or after all current active players have taken a turn. The rotation looks like this:
Player 1 > Player 2 > Enemy A > Player 3 > Player 4 > Enemy B
Rotation against Minibosses
Minibosses attack after every three player turns. A full round ends after the Miniboss has attacked once (ie after 3 player turns). The rotation looks like this:
Player 1, Player 2, Player 3 > Miniboss > Player 1, Player 2, Player 3 > Miniboss, etc
Rotation against Bosses
Bosses attack after every five player turns. A round ends after the Boss has attacked once (ie after 5 player turns). The rotation looks like this:
Player 1, Player 2, Player 3, Player 4, Player 5 > Boss > Player 1, Player 2, Player 3, Player 4, Player 5 > Boss, etc
*Please note that Player rotation varies depending on player count. For example, some boss fights might see rotations more like Player 1, Player 2, Player 3, Player 2, Player 1 > Boss if their player count is low or players go extended periods without posting their turn.
