Welcome!
So, you want to learn how guild combat works? Guild combat is fairly basic, but looks pretty complicated. I'll break it down into parts.
Declaring War
A guild may declare war on a single other guild once a week. When a guild has declared war, no other guild can declare war on either one of the guilds that are participating. For example, if Guild A declares war on Guild B, Guild C cannot declare war on Guild A or B in the same week.
Only guild leaders can declare war! Guild leaders should discuss whether or not they wish to declare war with guildmates. Once a guild has decided that they wish to declare war, the guild leader must post in the enemy guild's guild page in order to declare war.
Once war has been declared, BOTH GUILDS must post a clear message on their homepages stating that they are AT WAR, and must list the name of the guild they are currently at war with.
A guild MAY NOT declare war on the same guild TWICE IN A ROW. This is to prevent guilds from farming off of weaker guilds.
Combat
After war has been declared, the guilds participating enter a Combat Phase. During this Phase, guild members have one week to post in their guild pages showing their support. It is then the guild leader's responsibility to keep track of all of the members participating by listing their names, and their Attack and Defense stats, on the Guild's homepage.
For example, Guild A declared war on Guild B.
Guild A has 5 members that post saying they wish to participate. Guild A's homepage will now look like this somewhere on their home post:
Member1: Attack: 5, Defense: 5
Member2: Attack: 10, Defense: 3
Member3: Attack: 7, Defense: 4
Member4: Attack: 1, Defense: 1
Member5: Attack: 3, Defense: 6
Guild B's page will look similar, with a list of their members who participated.
IF MEMBERS DO NOT DECLARE THAT THEY ARE PARTICIPATING IN A WAR, THEIR STATS DO NOT COUNT WHEN THE NUMBERS ARE BEING CALCULATED.
Guild Fortifications
Guilds may also have personalized fortifications for their "Guild Halls." Guilds may purchase upgrades to their halls which will give them bonuses towards all combat. For example, a Guild may upgrade their defenses, gaining a +20 to defense when involved in a Guild war.
Determining a Victor
One week after war has been declared, a staff member runs some calculations to determine a winner.
Winners are determined based on three phases of combat.
Phase one pits the combined total Attack of Guild 1 versus the combined total Defense of Guild 2.
Phase two pits the combined total Defense of Guild 1 versus the combined total Attack of Guild 2.
Phase three pits the combined total ATTACK and DEFENSE of Guild 1 versus the combined total ATTACK and DEFENSE of Guild 2.
The resulting numbers are then plugged into a random number generator to determine a probability of victory, rather than simply saying "if A is higher than B, then A wins." This prevents a blatantly stronger guild from ALWAYS winning and bullying smaller guilds.
For example, if Guild A's combined Attack is 57, and Guild B's combined Defense is 32, then the numbers are 57/32, meaning Guild A has a 1.7 to 1 chance of winning. This means that guild B has a ~37% chance of winning. Using a random number generator, a number between 1-100 is generated. If the number falls between 1-37, Guild B wins. If it falls between 38-100, Guild A wins.
This formula is repeated for all three phases of combat. Whichever guild wins twice wins the war, and loots the spoils.
After a victor has been chosen, guilds remove the AT WAR message on their homepages, and resume activities as normal. They may accept new guildmate invites, or they may choose to declare war on another guild.
Victory Rewards
Victors loot 1/5 of the total treasury of the losing guild. Looted rupees are added to the victor guild's treasury, and are deducted from the losing guild's treasury.
In addition, all members of the VICTOR GUILD WHO PARTICIPATED in the war gain 1 level.
