Welcome, Magicians! Please view our selection of skills below. If you'd like to train in one of these skills, post below in order to pay their rupee cost. Only skills between levels 1-19 are available here. Starting at level 20, you must choose a Magician Subclass. Starting Spell:
Simple Trick: A Magician performs a simple trick, attempting a Competency check versus the target with a +15% bonus chance of success to Distract an enemy for 2 rounds. However, instead of Distracting the target onto him/herself, the Magician's expertise in misdirection forces the Distracted target onto another one of his/her allies. If the spell succeeds, the enemy target will be forced to target an ally of choice until the Distraction effect ends. Of there is no ally, the enemy targets the Magician instead. 6 round cooldown. This skill will not go on cooldown if it fails. Tier 1Levels 1-4Spell: Basic Illusion: The Magician performs a basic illusion spell, creating a copy of him/herself. This copy cannot attack or defend, but becomes part of the player rotation, adding another potential target for enemies. When the copy is hit, it automatically disappears and Confuses the enemy that hit it. 3 round cooldown after the illusion is destroyed. Rupee Cost: 100 Spell: Concussive Blast: The Magician fires a mental blast at the target, dealing standard Competency damage and has a 50% chance of Dazing the target for one of its turns. 4 round cooldown. Rupee Cost: 100 Levels 5-9Spell: Mesmerize: The Magician performs a trick so grand, a single target becomes Mesmerized by its elegance. The Mesmerized target must pass a Competency check in order to break the Mesmerize. (The Mes is auto-broken when the enemy is attacked.) Instead of passing standard accuracy, the Magician must pass a Competency check in order to succeed. 4 round cooldown after the Mesmerize is broken. Rupee Cost: 150 Spell, Passive: Showmanship: An expert entertainer, the Magician performs his/her acts with such finesse, he/she gains a 20% chance to succeed on all Crowd Control effects. This is a passive skill, but must be an equipped skill to gain its benefit. Rupee Cost: 150 Tier 2Levels 10-14Spell: Stunned into Silence: A Magician performs an elaborate trick, causing their target to become Stunned for 1 round. After the Stun effect ends, the target is Silenced for an additional 1 round automatically. This skill must pass a Competency check to succeed, but only has a 2 round cooldown if it fails. 5 round cooldown. Rupee Cost: 200 Spell, Passive: Escape Artist: A Magician cannot be rooted, and has the opportunity to escape from traps such as cages, chains, pits, grapples, or snares. Each time they are affected by these conditions, the Magician has a chance to break out of the effect immediately on their next turn by performing a Competency check with a +15% bonus chance of success. In addition, every time the Magician succeeds in an escape (including avoiding being rooted), all enemies in the room have a 60% chance to become Confused (The proc chance must be passed by each individual enemy target). The Confusion effect cannot proc more than once every 3 rounds, but the Magician may attempt an escape check as many times as they would like. This is a passive skill, but must be an equipped skill in order to gain its benefits. Rupee Cost: 200 Levels 15-19Spell, Passive, Buff: Reveal: Magicians use their powers of insight to detect invisible enemies, traps, etc., granting them a +20% to Perception checks. In addition, the Magician may activate this skill in order to reveal the invisible target, breaking its stealth effect for his/her group. This is a passive skill, but must be an equipped skill in order to function. 6 round cooldown on active component. Rupee Cost: 250 Spell, Buff: Divination: Magicians use powers of divination in order to predict the possible outcome of a future event, and attempts to alter it. The player/enemy who takes his/her turn after the Magician gains an effect depending on if they are an ally or foe. If an ally attacks after the Magician, the ally gets a 10% accuracy boost and deals 50% extra damage on an attacking move. If an enemy attacks after the Magician, the enemy suffers a 10% accuracy penalty and deals 50% less damage on their next move. If the ally/enemy who takes a turn after the Magician does not use an attacking action, the effect will roll into the next target until a valid target makes an attack. 5 round cooldown after the effect procs on a target. Rupee Cost: 250
